Raider Tennis Dominating Competition Season

Raider Tennis recently participated in the first ever tennis team tournament. They have shown the result hard work and dedication this year by making an impressive showing at state competition from March 11-12th in Austin.

“Team tennis involves playing with different teammates and playing both doubles and singles,” junior Radhika Nune said.”This is a pretty big change for people like me who have only really played singles.”

The team placed 7th out of 16 competitors and plans to finish the season off strong with the upcoming individual state competitions.

“It’s great to see other schools recognize Sunnyvale as tough competition,” junior Jacob Brooks said. “We get to play at a lot of tournaments and travel some. Everyone on the team is great to be around which makes everything more fun.”

Many of the underclassmen tennis players plan to continue next year due to the fun and rewarding experience that comes along with the long days and hard work.and their fellow Raiders couldn’t be more proud to be very well represented!

“We have really improved in how we work as a team and becoming more versatile,” Nune said.
