SHS has anonymous tip line on the Sunnyvale ISD app and website.

“The online tip line is a tool for all Sunnyvale students and community members to use conveniently and confidentially if they need to,” teacher and Community Liaison Emily White said. “Students can send information they feel concerned about through the tip line without fear of being identified.”

This tool is important because students can call in information without being worried about harassment and without fear of retribution.

I would say that the new tipline is a more overarching idea so you can tip about anything, about bullying, suicide, anything you want to tip about,” new school counselor Jamie Batten said.  “It benefits us because its will encourage safety which will and always will be our number one.”

David’s Law is legislation for schools to help prevent cyberbullying and bullying in general. It requires school districts to notify the parents of a child when he or she is a victim of bullying. David’s Law also states that the schools can expel students who engage in serious bullying.

The new anonymous tip line will support the law’s concepts.
