The SHS Theatre department is putting on their annual fall play, Lend Me a Tenor by Ken Ludwig. The show will be on Nov. 6, 8 and 10 at the SMS stage.

“I chose this show because it makes me laugh, and honestly, that’s what the world needs right now,” SHS Theatre Director Annie Gray said. “Just a little more laughter.”

After the cast list came out, Jarrett Stewart commented on the future of the play by giving us a look at what future viewers will enjoy.

“The many plot twists and changing storylines will leave everyone in shock,” freshman Jarrett Stewart, who plays the bellhop in the show, said. “This show is filled with so many amazing people and an amazing director, and I think this is going to be so fun to put together and develop characters.”

While there’s a lot of work to be done, the cast and crew are ready to make this one of the best productions yet.

“I am so excited to incorporate actors and techies of all grades in this production,” senior Helayna Barber, who plays Julia in the show, said. “It’s so awesome to see freshmen grow into leaders in our department form the ground up.”

While the play would typically be performed on the SHS stage, this year’s fall play will debut on the middle school stage due to the construction on the new auditorium.

“Moving all the pieces to the middle school from the high school after it’s all been built will be challenging for the techies,” senior costume head Logan Westmoreland said.
